Creature Feature!

Today we are featuring the Teddy Bear who loves to hang around with his big brother. They do everything together, from climbing trees, to eating honey, to going swimming in the river. The fact that the Teddy Bear is crocheted and his brother is not doesn't stop them from being the best of friends. They know that it doesn't matter what you look like; what matters is what's on the inside.

Creature Feature!

Say hello to this kitty! She loves taking long, mid-day naps in any patch of sunlight she can find. She also loves playing with toys and scratching those long claws. After a wonderful meal, you can find her curled up under the covers with a mug of hot milk and her favorite TV show. She also loves reading, and has a big stack of to-be-read books on her nightstand. Being cozy is how she loves to spend her time!

Goodbye!

Last week, we said goodbye to our chimpanzee, cat, otter, and bunny as they headed to their forever homes at Seacoast Family Promise. This is an organization that takes families without homes to stay in a cycle of churches that changes every week. While giving them a safe place to stay, SFP also enrolls parents in courses to help them get a job and secure a home for them. It is such a wonderful organization, and we are glad that we are continually given the chance to brighten the children's day by bringing them stuffed animals.

Creature Feature!

Hello everyone! Today we are featuring Sammy the sheep. She lives on a farm with her various sheep brothers and sisters and they love to live off the land. They grow all sorts of yummy fruits and vegetables there. Sammy also helps everyone get shaved during the warm seasons and they use their wool to make yarn to sell. Sammy also has taken a liking to carving and always carves little trinkets out of wood for her brothers and sisters.

Creature Feature!

Hey guys! We are very excited for you to meet the Octopus He is small and green and he loves to do any crafts he can get his hands on, since he usually finishes it in half the time. He especially likes sewing and has recently taken up cooking. But he is a very picky eater and won't so much as look at seafood.

Creature Feature

Today we are featuring the striped bear! He is the first creature made in 2017. He absolutely loves to live in the here and the now, and because of this he spends lots of time with friends. His favorite thing to do in his free time is go to amusement parks and ride the ferris wheel.

Interviewer (I): Thank you so much for joining us today!

Bear (B): It is my pleasure!

I: So what do you think makes you unique?

B: As you can see, I am very colorful. I am made out of 6 different colors, and there is no end to my colorfulness! I am not your average teddy bear.

I: What do you like the most about kids?

B: I love their creativity and their imagination. When kids play with me I feel like I could become anything. I feel like the possibilities for my new life are endless.

I: What kind of home are you looking for?

B: A home where I can just be loved endlessly, played with a lot, and cherished for a long time. Maybe my kid will even hand me off to their children someday! I want to be able to bring someone joy and color, and I hope that the same kid will bring me happiness as well.

I: Those are all the questions I have for you today, but thanks again for taking the time to be interviewed and the best of luck to you as you start your next journey of donation.

Happy 2017!

Hello everyone! First and foremost we would like to wish you all a happy 2017. Secondly, we would like to apologize for all of our inactivity. Believe it or not, 4 of our members started high school this year. We have all been very busy with schoolwork, sports, and other extracurricular activities. This has made it harder for us to work on our creatures. However, we still have a passion for knitting and crocheting, and we are going to try to step it up next year. Hopefully, you'll be seeing many more blog posts from us!
We would like to conclude that at the end of 2016 we have made 151 total creatures and donated 123 of them. These are numbers that we are very proud of and we hope to make them bigger throughout next year. Every creature made is another child helped.
Once again happy new year and the best of luck to you in 2017!
